This is the story of 2 lovable Dartmoor Ponies that have been given
a good home. The story of their life (well the amount we do know
about them) will be posted here and slowly unfold so please do watch
their progress.
Here
is a picture of them taken about 2 months before we got them.
From the pictures on the left Zeke is the one with the white star
on his fore head and is on the right in both pictures.
When we first got them we were told that they were about 8 years
old, 12h and been broken. As you will find when you read on we start
to wonder about their true history, never the less we still love
them and enjoy being with them.
Here is story so far for us loving two ponies and them coming to
their new home.
When we took them home on the 17th May 2007 they were in very poor
condition. Besides their sweet itch and rain scold their hooves
were over grown, their teeth never been looked at, hence the left
hand side of Zac's mouth was just full of ulcers. Zeke's teeth needed
filing as they were cuting into his mouth. Although it was uncomfortable
for them they took the treatment well. And it is a joy to see them
tucking into their food now.
We feel the biggest challenge is to gain the little men's trust
and to let them know that not all human's are bad.
A thanks must first go to SWEP for taking in these two ponies as
they were found abandoned on the side of the road as part of a group,
these being the last two that needed homing.
